New TV Shows and Season Finales This Week

This week's television schedule, running from Sunday, July 19, to Saturday, July 25, includes the season finale of Anne Rice's Interview With The Vampire on AMC and the series premiere of Stuart Fails To Save The Universe on HBO Max. The finale of Interview With The Vampire, airing Sunday at 9 p.m. Eastern, will conclude the third season which adapts the second novel in Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles, focusing on Lestat de Lioncourt's journey into glam-rock stardom and potentially resolving plotlines involving Armand and Daniel. The A.V. Club will publish a recap of the episode on Sunday.

Thursday marks the series premiere of Stuart Fails To Save The Universe on HBO Max. This science-fiction comedy, a spin-off from The Big Bang Theory, stars Kevin Sussman as Stuart Bloom, the comic-book shop owner who inadvertently triggers a multiverse Armageddon due to a malfunctioning machine created by Sheldon Cooper and Leonard Hofstadter. Stuart is joined in his mission to restore reality by his girlfriend Denise, played by Lauren Lapkus, geologist Bert portrayed by Brian Posehn, and quantum physicist Barry Kripke, voiced by John Ross Bowie. The series will also feature alternate-universe versions of familiar characters. The A.V. Club is scheduled to release a season review on Thursday.

Apple TV+ will premiere the sports comedy film The Dink on Friday. Directed by Josh Greenbaum and written by Sean Clements, the movie stars Jake Johnson as Dusty Boyd, a former tennis professional who turns to pickleball to recover from an injury. The film is described as giving the popular sport of pickleball a treatment similar to that of Happy Gilmore. Ben Stiller also stars in the film.
