Europe Faces Heat Surge With Tropical Nights

Western Europe experienced another heat surge over the weekend, with Spain, Portugal, and France already enduring high temperatures. Southern parts of the UK joined them on Monday as the heatwave intensified.
Temperatures are forecast to climb between 10C and 15C above the seasonal average across the affected regions. The hottest areas in France and Spain are expected to reach highs nearing 40C (104F). In the UK, temperatures are predicted to reach the low to mid-30s Celsius.
The return of "tropical nights," where minimum temperatures do not fall below 20C, is also anticipated in some areas, contributing to uncomfortable sleeping conditions. This heatwave follows a period of unusually high temperatures across the continent earlier in the summer.
Meanwhile, in the north-western Pacific, Super Typhoon Bavi is currently moving through the region, posing a separate weather threat. The typhoon's track and potential impact are being closely monitored by meteorological agencies.
