We got free GTA V upgrades before GTA VI
Rockstar Games announced free current-generation upgrades for Grand Theft Auto V on June 18th, allowing players to move from PlayStation 4 and Xbox One to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S at no cost. This offer applies to any copy of Grand Theft Auto V on PS4 and the digital version on Xbox One. The upgrade includes the standalone Grand Theft Auto Online, which will also be available for free on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S for the first three months. This initiative precedes the highly anticipated launch of Grand Theft Auto VI, which is scheduled for release in 2025. The free upgrade aims to bring existing Grand Theft Auto V players to the latest console versions ahead of the next installment in the franchise. Grand Theft Auto V, first released in 2013, has continued to be a significant revenue generator for Rockstar Games and its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, through its online component.
