Vivo Y31t Launched With Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 and 7,200 mAh Battery

Vivo officially launched the Y31t smartphone, a new addition to its Y-series lineup, on August 22, 2024. This device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, a mobile platform designed for efficient performance in mid-range devices. The Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 is built on a 4nm process and features an octa-core CPU with Kryo cores, aiming to provide a balance of speed and power efficiency for everyday tasks and moderate gaming. The Y31t is equipped with a large 7,200 mAh battery, which Vivo claims can support extended usage, including up to 15 hours of video playback or 8 hours of gaming. This substantial battery capacity positions the Y31t as a device for users who prioritize long battery life and may not have frequent access to charging facilities. The smartphone sports a 6.56-inch IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels. It offers a standard 60Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 840 nits, suitable for general viewing conditions. For photography, the Vivo Y31t features a dual rear camera system, headlined by a 50-megapixel main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. This is complemented by a 2-megapixel secondary sensor, likely for depth sensing or macro photography. The front-facing camera is an 8-megapixel sensor housed in a waterdrop notch, designed for selfies and video calls. In terms of memory and storage, the Y31t comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and offers two storage options: 128GB and 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The device also supports storage expansion via a microSD card, allowing users to further increase capacity. Connectivity options on the Vivo Y31t include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. It also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack, a feature still valued by many users. The smartphone runs on Vivo's Funtouch OS 13, which is based on Android 13. This software layer provides Vivo's custom user interface and features on top of the Android operating system. The Vivo Y31t is available in two color options: Starry Night Black and Dawn Blue. Pricing details indicate that the 8GB+128GB variant is priced at CNY 1,199 (approximately $165 USD), while the 8GB+256GB variant costs CNY 1,399 (approximately $193 USD). The device is currently available for purchase in China. The launch of the Y31t follows Vivo's strategy of offering budget-friendly smartphones with competitive battery capacities and capable chipsets for emerging markets.
