VANDYTHEPINK and ASICS Launch Ice Cream-Themed Sneakers

VANDYTHEPINK and ASICS are launching a new collaboration, the Gel-Kayano 12.1, on August 8, 2024. This two-pack release draws inspiration from ice cream flavors, featuring "Chocolate" and "Vanilla" colorways. The "Chocolate" version sports a brown mesh upper with silver and light yellow accents on the overlays and midsole. The "Vanilla" colorway presents white mesh uppers with silver overlays, complemented by small details in baby pink, mint green, and light yellow, evoking a Neapolitan ice cream aesthetic.

Beyond the color schemes, the collaboration incorporates specific branding elements for VANDYTHEPINK fans. The eyelets of the Gel-Kayano 12.1 feature subtle "VANDYTHEPINK" embossing. The tongue is adorned with a Korean "VANDYTHEPINK" wordmark, replacing the standard ASICS logo. Additionally, dual flower motif tags, referencing the brand's signature emblem, are placed beneath a lateral overlay on the heel.

This release marks VANDYTHEPINK's second collaboration with ASICS, following the 2025 ASICS Gel-Nimbus 10.1, which was available in "Banana Split" and "Strawberry" variants. VANDYTHEPINK has a history of creating food-themed footwear collaborations. In 2024, the brand released a "Burger"-inspired Salomon Speedcross 3, featuring colors mimicking burger ingredients. In 2023, VANDYTHEPINK partnered with Clarks Originals for a burger-themed Wallabee, complete with sesame seed embroidery and vegetable-shaped tags.
