Valve just imported 13 tons of VR headsets in one day

Valve imported approximately 13 tons of its new Steam Frame virtual reality headsets into Los Angeles on June 10th. The shipment arrived on the German container ship Posen, which had sailed from Shanghai over two weeks. Valve's distribution partner, Ceva Logistics, handled the offloading of the nearly 32 metric tons of cargo, which included the VR headsets. This marks the first known mass production shipment of the Steam Frame, a product Valve has been developing to compete in the VR gaming market. The arrival of this significant quantity of hardware suggests Valve is preparing for a broad consumer release of its VR headset. The Steam Frame is expected to feature advanced display technology and improved ergonomics for extended gaming sessions. The company has not yet announced a specific release date or pricing for the device, but this substantial import indicates a launch is imminent. The successful import of this volume of hardware is a critical step in bringing the Steam Frame to market and making it available to a wide audience of PC gamers interested in virtual reality experiences.
