This compilation, titled "David Bowie: The Shel Talmy Recordings," includes tracks featuring Jimmy Page on guitar, prior to Page's formation of Led Zeppelin. These recordings capture Bowie's early career in mid-60s London, a period characterized by blues-influenced pop-rock. Before his breakthrough with "Space Oddity" in 1969 and subsequent iconic albums like "The Man Who Sold the World" and "Hunky Dory," Bowie presented a different artistic persona, performing in a style that aligned with contemporary London bands such as The Beatles, The Small Faces, and The Who.
