Ulysse Nardin Releases Blast Moonstruck Rose Gold Watch

Ulysse Nardin released the Blast Moonstruck Limited Edition watch on an unspecified date, a new astronomical timepiece limited to 20 pieces and priced at $116,000 USD. This watch builds upon the legacy of Dr. Ludwig Oechslin's earlier astronomical designs, including the 2009 Moonstruck. The Blast Moonstruck presents a geocentric view of the Earth, Sun, and Moon.

The timepiece features a 45mm case constructed from 18-carat rose gold for the upper section and black DLC-treated titanium for the middle case and bezel. It displays five astronomical indications: a moonphase with 40.3 years of accuracy, lunar month days, tidal coefficients, a worldtimer, and the real-time positions of the Sun and Moon. A three-dimensional representation of the Northern Hemisphere is engraved on the underside of a domed sapphire glass box, set against a black aventurine dial.

Powering the watch is the in-house automatic Manufacture Calibre UN-106, which comprises 338 components and 42 jewels. The movement operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 50-hour power reserve. It incorporates silicon technology, including an in-house produced silicon escapement and hairspring from SIGATEC, enhancing anti-magnetic properties and reducing the need for lubrication.

Designed for practical use, the Blast Moonstruck includes Ulysse Nardin’s patented time-setting mechanism. This allows wearers to adjust local time in one-hour increments using case-side pushers without affecting the astronomical calculations. The watch is fitted with a black alligator strap.
