Ukraine officially adopts new electric motorcycle for military use

Ukraine officially adopted the "Koleso" electric motorcycle for military use on June 10, 2024, marking a significant step in the integration of electric vehicles into its armed forces. Developed by Ukrainian company "Inters" and tested extensively over the past year, the "Koleso" is designed for reconnaissance, patrol, and logistical support missions. The motorcycle features a 10 kW electric motor, capable of reaching speeds of up to 120 km/h, and a battery range of approximately 150 km on a single charge. Its silent operation is a key advantage for covert operations, reducing the risk of detection. The "Koleso" also boasts a robust chassis designed to withstand rough terrain and can be equipped with various tactical attachments, including weapon mounts and communication systems. The Ministry of Defence stated that the adoption of "Koleso" is part of a broader strategy to modernize the Ukrainian military with advanced, sustainable technologies. This move underscores a global trend of military forces exploring electric mobility solutions for their operational needs, driven by factors such as reduced logistical footprint for fuel, lower maintenance costs, and environmental considerations.
