Uber Buys Delivery Hero for $14.8 Billion

Uber announced an agreement to acquire the German food delivery company Delivery Hero for $14.8 billion. Uber offered Delivery Hero shareholders €41.50 per share, valuing the company at $14.8 billion. The net cost to Uber will be $13.7 billion, factoring in its prior acquisition of 25% of Delivery Hero's shares, with the most recent purchase occurring in May. The combined entity is poised to become a dominant force in the international food delivery market.
