TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO Opens September 17, 2027

TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO is slated to open its doors on September 17, 2027, marking a significant expansion for the Japanese boutique hotel brand TRUNK beyond its Tokyo origins. This new property will be situated in the Sapporo Daibiru building, located in the central Odori district of Hokkaido. The hotel's philosophy centers on deeply integrating with and reflecting the local context, aiming to provide guests with an experience that is profoundly shaped by Hokkaido's distinct history, culture, natural environment, and culinary traditions. The hotel will occupy floors 10 through 18 of the building, encompassing 107 guest rooms. In addition to accommodations, the property will offer a comprehensive suite of amenities designed to enhance the guest experience. These include an all-day dining restaurant, a lounge and bar featuring live music performances, flexible banquet spaces suitable for various events, and a private entertainment studio equipped for both cinema viewing and karaoke sessions. The interior design of TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO has been a collaborative effort between GENERAL DESIGN CO., LTD. and TRUNK Atelier. The overarching aesthetic is defined by a "Mid-Century Folklore" theme. This design concept represents a unique interpretation of mid-century design principles, filtered through TRUNK's distinctive brand perspective. The inspiration for this theme is drawn directly from the natural landscapes and traditional artisanal crafts characteristic of Hokkaido. The guest rooms are intended to foster a warm and inviting atmosphere, utilizing wood-centric textures and meticulously crafted details. These elements are intended to evoke a sense of nature's presence, even within an urban setting, allowing guests to feel connected to the surrounding environment. A key new feature for the TRUNK brand is the introduction of its first-ever spa, named TRUNK(BATH HOUSE). Located on the 18th floor, this facility is envisioned as an immersive "water utopia." It boasts a 40-meter waterway and ten distinct bathing zones. These zones are designed to be swimwear-friendly and offer varied sensory experiences through different lighting, sound, and temperature stimuli. Complementing these bathing areas are high-temperature saunas and open-air baths, providing a holistic wellness offering. Further enhancing the hotel's appeal, TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO will also feature the first Sapporo outpost of the renowned restaurant Sushi Saito, a significant addition to the city's fine dining scene.
