Donald Trump's childhood home, a Tudor-style residence in Queens, New York, has been sold for $1.93 million. The property, located in the affluent Jamaica Estates neighborhood, was where Trump lived until the age of four. His father, developer Fred Trump, originally built the home in 1940. The Trump family has not owned the property for many years. The recent sale price of $1.93 million was recorded on real estate websites after a buyer, whose identity remains undisclosed, entered into a contract in July. The seller, Tommy Lin, had acquired the five-bedroom, three-bathroom house just last year for $835,000. At the time of Lin's purchase, the home had been vacant and neglected for an extended period. Lin, who is also a developer, invested an additional $500,000 into an eight-month renovation project. This overhaul included significant interior upgrades such as a chef's kitchen, herringbone wood floors, and spa-like bathrooms, as reported by the New York Post. The property has experienced multiple ownership changes in recent years. Notably, it sold for $2.14 million in 2017, a few months after Trump assumed the presidency. The buyer at that time was an entity known as Trump Birth Home LLC. The home was also briefly listed for rent on Airbnb, featuring amenities like a life-sized cardboard cutout of Trump, copies of his book "The Art of the Deal," and a framed People magazine cover. In 2019, it was listed for sale again with an asking price of $2.9 million but did not sell until Tommy Lin acquired it. Prior to Lin's purchase and renovation, the New York Post detailed the home's significant disrepair. Issues included water damage and mold stemming from a burst pipe, and a colony of feral cats had inhabited the residence where Trump spent his earliest years. Donald Trump, now 80 years old, achieved significant success in the real estate industry before transitioning to politics. His real estate ventures included the construction of Trump Tower in Manhattan, where he resided for decades. His presidency saw him oversee residential renovations, including the addition of a large ballroom to the White House and the incorporation of gold-plated fixtures in the Oval Office, which are characteristic of his design aesthetic.
