The property, a $1.75 million estate located in Wheaton, Illinois, is being referred to as the "sister home" to Swift and Kelce's recently acquired Ohio mansion. The historical connection dates back to 1897 when Chicago steel magnate Jay Morse commissioned architect Jarvis Hunt to design the Illinois property as a wedding gift. This initial commission resulted in the creation of the House of Seven Gables, named for its distinctive roofline. Years later, Morse, having relocated to the Cleveland area, again enlisted Jarvis Hunt to design a similar residence on the shores of Lake Erie. This second, later-built property, eventually became the home of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, known as Moyenage.

The House of Seven Gables itself is a substantial residence, boasting seven bedrooms and 6.5 bathrooms, and presenting a grand Tudor facade. It is situated in proximity to the prestigious Chicago Golf Club. The sale of this historic home is being managed by Jenny Ames and Lisa Grimes, real estate agents affiliated with Engel & Völkers Chicago. This listing follows Swift and Kelce's purchase of their Ohio home earlier this year, a property valued at $5.35 million. The visual and conceptual similarities between the Illinois estate and the couple's Ohio home highlight the enduring design principles of both Jay Morse and Jarvis Hunt, whose collaboration produced these remarkable residences decades apart.

The House of Seven Gables is not only architecturally significant but also a cherished local landmark. Its preservation has been a community effort, with local preservationists organizing to protect it from potential redevelopment. A testament to these efforts, in 2017, the entire 730-ton structure underwent a remarkable feat of engineering, being relocated 500 feet to a new foundation. This move was necessary to accommodate further development on its original site while ensuring the historic home's survival. The property's imposing presence is immediately apparent, characterized by an expansive concrete staircase and terrace that lead to the main entrance. Upon entering, visitors are welcomed into a sizable foyer and gallery. To the right of the foyer, one finds a living room and a den, both featuring striking exposed-beam ceilings and one of the home's three fireplaces. To the left, a library or office space is located, adjacent to the kitchen. The kitchen, in turn, is conveniently connected to a formal dining room, which is adorned with another fireplace and features stunning wood paneling.
