TOKYO BASE Opens Craft-Focused JAPAN EDITION Flagship in Ginza

TOKYO BASE will open its craft-focused JAPAN EDITION flagship store in Ginza on July 16, 2026. The new street-level establishment on Namiki-dori is designed to highlight Japanese craftsmanship and traditional techniques. Masato Tani, Representative Director of JAPAN EDITION, oversees the curated select shop concept.

The architectural design for the flagship was conceived by Shuhei Kamiya of KAMIYA ARCHITECTS. Kamiya incorporated traditional Japanese elements into the modern Ginza cityscape, including a facade with denim-blue roof tiles and hanging paper lanterns. The interior features a showroom on the ground floor and a traditional Japanese storehouse (kura) inspired space in the basement, utilizing light and shadow to create an immersive atmosphere.

To commemorate the opening, JAPAN EDITION has partnered with YAMANE INDUSTRIES and gold for exclusive product releases. These collaborations include a special denim jacket, straight jeans, and a premium acetate souvenir jacket, all designed to showcase the artisanal heritage and production expertise of the involved brands.
