Tinder Expands In-App Events Feature Globally

Tinder announced the global expansion of its in-app feature, Tinder Events, designed to facilitate real-world connections among singles based on shared interests. The feature, initially piloted in Los Angeles in March 2026, has seen significant user engagement, with 66% of eligible active users in the pilot market interacting with the feature. Tinder found that activity-based experiences, such as a candlelight ceramics class that sold out in a day, hikes, and DJ nights, were particularly popular.

Tinder Events is now available in nine additional cities across the United States and Europe, including Berlin, Dallas, Denver, Geneva, Kansas City, Munich, New York City, Phoenix, and Zurich. The company plans to extend the feature to 26 markets by the end of September. Users in eligible cities can browse and RSVP for local events directly within the Tinder app.

The Tinder Events feature operates by showcasing existing local experiences created and managed by independent organizers, rather than Tinder itself creating the events. Users can view events in a dedicated tab within the app, mark their interest, see other interested users, RSVP, and purchase tickets. After attending an event, users can check in to earn an "Attended" badge on their profile and continue connecting with other attendees.

Photo verification is a requirement for full access to Tinder events. The pilot program in Los Angeles provided Tinder with data on user interaction with the Events tab, particularly among younger, photo-verified active users. This expansion aims to address dating app burnout, especially among Gen Z users, by offering tangible, interest-driven social opportunities beyond digital interactions.
