The Yard Theatre in London is hosting an experimental adult puppet production of Jackie Collins' debut novel, "The World Is Full of Married Men." The adaptation, created by the Swedish company Malmö Dockteater and directed by Erik Holmström, reimagines the 1960s show business drama with repurposed Barbie dolls. These puppets are notably detailed, featuring pubic hair, explicit anatomical representations, and audible breathing effects, pushing the boundaries of traditional puppetry.

The production delves into themes of marital dissatisfaction, infidelity, female ambition, and the predatory nature of the film industry, predating contemporary discussions around sexual harassment and the #MeToo movement. The show incorporates explicit adult content, including nudity, fellatio, cunnilingus, and depictions of sexual intercourse. The Guardian describes the adult content as significantly more graphic than that found in the West End musical "Avenue Q."
