Secret Service Investigates Vance Detail Member Over Leak

The U.S. Secret Service has initiated an internal investigation into a member of Vice President JD Vance's security detail, following allegations of a suspected news leak and compromised operational security. Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesperson for the Secret Service, confirmed the investigation on Thursday, stating that the individual faces potential criminal inquiry. Guglielmi emphasized that any conduct threatening a protectee's safety will not be tolerated, though he declined to comment on the specific details of the case. The agency has not publicly identified the individual under scrutiny. This investigation is reportedly linked to a report by MS NOW last week, which detailed private frustrations expressed by some Secret Service agents regarding last-minute travel requests from Vance and his family. Vance's office has directed all inquiries to the Secret Service. Vice President Vance and his wife, Usha, reside at the U.S. Naval Observatory with their four young children. The couple recently welcomed their fourth child, Alec Neel Vance, marking the first birth of a child to a sitting vice president in over 150 years. His siblings are Ewan, 9; Vivek, 6; and Mirabel, 4.
