Razer Unveils Soma Chroma Wireless Gaming Chair With RGB

Razer unveiled the Soma Chroma, its inaugural wireless Chroma RGB gaming chair, on March 19, 2024. This new chair integrates Razer's signature RGB lighting system directly into the seating, combining it with a wireless power solution and an ergonomic design intended for extended gaming sessions. The chair aims to extend the immersive experience of a gaming setup from the desk to the user's seat.

The Soma Chroma features fully integrated Razer Chroma RGB lighting that synchronizes in real-time with over 300 PC games that support Chroma integration. Users can choose from 16.8 million colors and 10 lighting presets, all configurable via Razer Synapse software. Connectivity to a PC is managed wirelessly through an included USB Type A HyperSpeed Wireless dongle. The chair also includes an onboard control panel allowing users to change lighting effects, adjust brightness, and switch between a 2.4 GHz PC connection and a Bluetooth connection for mobile devices without interrupting gameplay.

Powering the lighting system without cable clutter is achieved through a USB Type C connection. The chair is designed to be powered by a standard power bank or a wall outlet, maintaining the clean, wireless aesthetic. This power flexibility is a key aspect of the Soma Chroma's design, positioning it as a component for a streamlined, cable-free gaming environment. The chair's construction emphasizes comfort and support for prolonged use, featuring a built-in ergonomic lumbar arch designed to promote a neutral sitting posture and reduce fatigue. The seating utilizes dual-density cold-cured foam, offering a softer top layer and a firmer base to evenly distribute pressure and enhance airflow during long gaming sessions. A reinforced steel frame and a 5-star steel wheelbase provide stability and durability.
