Yeonjun's 'No Labels' Project Explores Identity Via Music

The 'NO LABELS' project by YEONJUN, a member of the K-pop group TOMORROW X TOGETHER, centers on the idea that assigned categories do not fully define an individual. His latest release, PART 02, and its lead single "Ice Cream" exemplify this concept by pushing creative boundaries. The project's foundation was strengthened by the success of PART 01, which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart and charted on the Billboard 200, granting YEONJUN greater artistic freedom.

"Ice Cream" utilizes a precise metaphor to liken a romantic relationship to something delicate, requiring careful handling to avoid melting or causing "brain freeze." YEONJUN explained that this concept inspired the choreography, which evolved from nearly 50 distinct movements to its final form. He aimed to subtly incorporate visual cues representing melting, scooping, and the sensation of brain freeze, encouraging listeners to discover these details.

The creative process for PART 02 was influenced by the reception of PART 01. YEONJUN noted that while there was initial pressure following the success of his first solo album, he felt more at ease during the creation of the second part. The positive reactions from fans, referred to as MOA, during the PART 01 listening party significantly contributed to his comfort and desire to enjoy the artistic journey.
