RDU Airport Opens Free Pepsi-Themed Lounge This Year

Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) is set to open a new, complimentary airport lounge later this year, distinguished by its Pepsi branding. This unique space, located in Terminal 2, will be accessible to all travelers without any membership fees or entry costs. The lounge is designed to offer a comfortable respite from the main terminal, featuring seating areas, workspaces, numerous power outlets, and televisions. Two Pepsi vending machines will be available for refreshments.

The RDU Airport Authority has confirmed that the facility is on schedule to open by the end of 2026 and will operate 24 hours a day. While not a premium club like airline-specific lounges, it aims to provide a functional and pleasant environment for passengers. This initiative marks a notable presence for Pepsi in an airport setting, following its recent departure as the official soda partner at Marriott hotels.

For travelers seeking traditional airport lounge experiences, RDU already hosts airline lounges in Terminal 2, including the American Airlines Admirals Club, Delta Sky Club, and United Club. The new Pepsi lounge represents a different approach, focusing on broad accessibility and brand partnership to enhance the passenger experience. A similar Pepsi-themed lounge concept has previously been implemented at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).
