IWC Launches 35mm Ingenieur Automatic 35 Pool Blue
IWC Schaffhausen has expanded its Ingenieur collection with the launch of the Ingenieur Automatic 35 in Pool Blue, a new 35mm stainless steel sports watch. This compact model features a distinctive "Pool" blue dial, a shade described as mint-green-esque, designed to evoke a summery aesthetic. The watch retains key design elements from Gérald Genta's 1976 Ingenieur SL, including an integrated bracelet and a bezel secured by five functional screws.
The dial is characterized by the Ingenieur's signature grid pattern, complemented by rhodium-plated hands and indices treated with Super‑LumiNova® for enhanced legibility in low-light conditions. Powering the timepiece is IWC's in-house Caliber 47110 automatic movement, which operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 42-hour power reserve. The movement also includes central hacking seconds and a date display.
For enthusiasts who appreciate the intricate mechanics of watchmaking, the Ingenieur Automatic 35 Pool Blue features a sapphire crystal exhibition caseback. This allows for a view of the decorated movement, which includes circular graining, Geneva stripes, and a gold-plated oscillating mass. The watch is now available for purchase through IWC's online and physical boutiques with a retail price of $11,200 USD.
