Sally Phillips Stars in "The Hairdresser Mysteries"

Sally Phillips stars as Lily Petal in the new daytime television drama "The Hairdresser Mysteries," which premiered on BBC One this week. The series follows Petal, a hairdresser who moves to the fictional village of Blossom Vale seeking a quieter life after working with high-profile clients in London. Upon arriving, she discovers her new salon is a relic from the 1970s, complete with period decor and an abundance of brown and orange hues.

Petal's new life takes a dramatic turn when a local busybody is found dead near a stepladder, raising questions of whether the death was an accident or a murder. Phillips' character, Lily Petal, embraces the role of an amateur sleuth, equipped with a magnifying glass to investigate the mysterious demise. The show is described as an audacious and snuggly cosy crime drama, with Phillips herself gifting the audience what is called the most "bananas" daytime TV experience.
