Eccentrica Unveils V12 Roadster Supercar

Eccentrica unveiled the V12 Roadster on August 14, 2026, a bespoke, open-top re-engineering of the first-series Lamborghini Diablo. This new supercar is designed to capture the raw nostalgia of the 1990s with an elemental, driver-focused approach. The V12 Roadster was officially revealed at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, an event known for showcasing high-end automotive creations. Conceptualized in collaboration with Milan's Borromeo De Silva design studio, the project involved a complete ground-up re-engineering of the original Lamborghini Diablo. Each of the 19 bespoke units produced will incorporate over 3,500 custom-made components, transforming the iconic poster car into a more visceral driving machine. The engineering team for Eccentrica was led by Maurizio Reggiani, the former Chief Technical Officer (CTO) of Lamborghini, who was instrumental in the development of models such as the Murciélago, Aventador, and Huracán. Under his guidance, the Diablo's original silhouette was significantly reshaped. The bodywork is constructed entirely from carbon fiber, mounted over a steel spaceframe, and features a widened track and recalibrated proportions to enhance its aggressive stance. To accommodate the open-top design and ensure structural integrity, the chassis has undergone significant stiffening with structural carbon fiber reinforcements. The suspension system has been upgraded to double wishbones with custom semi-active dampers, complemented by hydraulic rack-and-pinion steering for precise control. A high-performance Brembo braking system provides stopping power. Mechanical enhancements focus on raw performance and an engaging driving experience. The V12 Roadster is powered by a modified 5.7-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine, producing 550 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. The powertrain has received redesigned thermal management systems and optimized airflow for improved efficiency. Custom ECU mapping has been implemented to sharpen throttle response, catering to aggressive driving styles. Power is delivered to the wheels through a traditional six-speed gated manual gearbox, emphasizing driver engagement. The lack of a roof is stated not to compromise the car's structural rigidity or performance capabilities. Only 19 units of this bespoke supercar will be produced, highlighting its exclusivity and handcrafted nature. The price for this exclusive vehicle has not been publicly disclosed but is expected to be substantial given the bespoke engineering and limited production run.
