Tesla Q2 2026 Sales Rise 25%

Tesla sold 480,126 electric vehicles in the second quarter of 2026, marking a 25% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. This sales performance indicates a strong recovery in demand for the automaker's products. The majority of these sales were comprised of the Model 3 and Model Y, which together accounted for 467,762 deliveries, a 25.2% year-on-year rise. These two models continue to be Tesla's primary volume drivers.
The remaining 12,364 vehicles sold were a combination of the Model S, Model X, and the Cybertruck. This segment saw a 19% increase compared to Q2 2025. The Cybertruck, which is exclusively sold in North America and the Middle East, contributed to this figure. The company's ability to move these higher-end and niche models alongside its mass-market offerings demonstrates a broadening appeal.
Furthermore, Tesla appears to be effectively addressing its previous overproduction issues. In Q2 2026, total production reached 451,758 cars. This represents a 10% year-on-year increase in production but is notably nearly 30,000 fewer vehicles than were sold during the quarter. This strategic adjustment in production levels, as highlighted in the company's Q1 2026 results released in March, suggests improved inventory management and a more balanced supply-demand dynamic.
