Team Wales hopefuls in search of Commonwealth gold

Team Wales announced its largest ever Commonwealth Games contingent on May 15, 2024, with 127 athletes selected to compete in Birmingham.

The team spans 15 sports, including athletics, swimming, cycling, and gymnastics, with a particular focus on medal potential in the boxing and lawn bowls events.

Among the hopefuls is experienced boxer Rosie Eccles, who won bronze at the 2018 Gold Coast Games and is aiming for gold in her third Commonwealth appearance.

Swimmer Alys Thomas, a gold medalist in the 200m butterfly at the 2018 Games, also returns, targeting further success in the pool.

Newcomers to the team include young track cyclist Owain Davies and para-athlete Olivia Breen, who will make her Commonwealth debut in the T38 100m sprint.
