Swift advised aspiring songwriters to prioritize their passions. Filmmaker Steven Spielberg introduced Swift, speaking about the profound impact of songwriting and noting Swift's ability to connect with listeners. Swift acknowledged Spielberg's influence on her trusting her imagination. Gen Z singer Sombr performed Swift's songs "Cardigan" and "Dear John" to open Swift's segment. The induction marks a significant moment for Swift, who has influenced contemporary pop music trends. It was announced during the ceremony that Stevie Wonder, who began his recording career at 13, remains the youngest person ever inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Other honorees at the event, held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City, included Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley of Kiss, Christopher "Tricky" Stewart, Alanis Morissette, and Kenny Loggins. Tamar Braxton opened the gala.
