Swansea set to sign Celtic defender Welsh

Swansea City is set to sign Celtic defender Stephen Welsh as their first summer acquisition. The 24-year-old Scottish center-back has agreed to personal terms with the Championship club. Welsh joined Celtic's academy in 2015 and has made 47 appearances for the senior team since his debut in 2019. He has also had loan spells at Dumbarton and the Belgian club, Deinze. Swansea manager Luke Williams has been looking to strengthen his defensive options, and Welsh's arrival is expected to bolster the squad ahead of the new season. The transfer fee has not been disclosed, but it is understood to be a significant investment for Swansea.
