The highly anticipated West End revival of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s acclaimed musical "Sunday in the Park with George" has been postponed. Producer Empire Street Productions announced on Instagram that the production, initially slated for a 2027 release, "will no longer proceed as scheduled." This delay follows the unexpected exits of its lead actors, Grammy Award-winning singer and actress Ariana Grande, and BAFTA Award-winning actor Jonathan Bailey. Grande was set to portray the role of Dot/Marie, while Bailey was cast as George/Seurat. The production company stated that it "retain[s] the rights with the intention to revisit the production at a later date." No new timeline for the revival has been provided.
