This action follows a company warning issued earlier in the month, implementing a policy announced in January aimed at reducing what Eli Lilly describes as duplicate discounts paid to hospitals. Hospital trade groups contend that this move is unlawful and are seeking congressional intervention. Eli Lilly stated that over 2,300 hospitals had complied with its data request, but some larger hospital systems refused, with up to 1,000 hospitals not yet complying. The pharmaceutical giant indicated it was specifically pressing approximately 50 larger hospitals for the required data.
