Anson Mount Avoids LA Lifestyle, Prefers Tennessee

Actor Anson Mount, known for his role in "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds," has achieved considerable Hollywood success while deliberately avoiding the Los Angeles lifestyle. Mount, 53, began his acting career in the late 1990s and gained wider recognition in 2002 for his role in the film "Crossroads," starring alongside Britney Spears, Zoe Saldana, and Taryn Manning. His career has since included roles in the AMC series "Hell on Wheels" and the recent "Star Trek" spinoff. Mount recently undertook a media tour to promote the fourth season of "Strange New Worlds," which included an appearance on "The View" in New York City. During his promotional activities, Mount shared a humorous anecdote about an interaction with "The View" host Joy Behar, which he discussed with his wife, Darah Trang. Despite his comfort in the public eye, Mount has actively chosen to live outside of the traditional Hollywood sphere. He has returned to his home state of Tennessee, where he and his spouse reside in the West Meade area of Nashville. Mount grew up approximately 30 miles outside of Nashville in White Bluff and began his acting journey with a local program at Sewanee University. He recently told Nashville Scene that he never anticipated becoming a major movie star while growing up in his hometown.
