Spanish filmmaker Carlos Saiz won the Transilvania Trophy at the Transilvania International Film Festival on Saturday for his debut film, "Lionel." The film is a father-son drama centered on a young man's journey to mend a fractured relationship with his absent father. The jury recognized Saiz's intimate portrayal of familial reconciliation. The Transilvania International Film Festival, held in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, is one of the largest film festivals in Central and Eastern Europe, showcasing a diverse range of international cinema. This year's festival featured over 300 films and hosted numerous industry professionals. The Transilvania Trophy is the festival's highest honor, accompanied by a €15,000 prize.
