Sotheby's Abu Dhabi Auction Features Hemmerle Jewelry, Richard Mille Watch

Sotheby's launched the Abu Dhabi Collectors' Edit: Materiality, an online luxury auction, on June 24, 2026, which will run through July 10, 2026. This curated sale emphasizes "materiality" as a core luxury concept, drawing connections across diverse categories like jewelry, timepieces, motorcars, and haute leather goods. The auction aims to reinforce Sotheby's strategic commitment to the UAE and the Middle East, building on the success of the Abu Dhabi Collectors' Week in December 2025, which generated over $133 million USD.

The "Materiality" auction features a selection of over thirty luxury items with an estimated total value ranging from $6.6 million to $9.7 million USD. The jewelry category is highlighted by five unique creations from the contemporary high jewelry house Hemmerle, marking their first public offering. Other notable jewelry lots include exceptional diamonds and pieces from Bulgari and Van Cleef & Arpels. A standout item is a 199.75-carat cushion-shaped Mozambique Paraiba tourmaline, estimated between $220,000 and $320,000 USD.

The timepiece collection includes thirteen ultra-rare watches, prominently featuring the Richard Mille "Rafael Nadal" wristwatch. The auction also presents significant automotive lots, such as a limited-edition 2019 Bugatti Chiron and a Mercedes-Benz AMG. Additionally, a limited-edition Hermès Midas Kelly bag is among the featured haute leather goods, further underscoring the diverse range of high-value items available in the sale.
