SOMEWHERE® Releases New Balance 1954R Early

Washington D.C.-based boutique SOMEWHERE® has launched an exclusive early release of the New Balance 1954R, a new sneaker silhouette, prior to its official global debut scheduled for July 17. This early access allows customers to purchase the shoe from SOMEWHERE® before its wider availability.

The New Balance 1954R draws inspiration from the city of Washington D.C.'s historical preference for grey New Balance footwear. Its design is a fusion of elements from two established heritage models, the 2002 and 1906. The name "1954" itself is derived from the average of these two model numbers, highlighting its hybrid nature. The shoe features a construction that includes premium pig suede, synthetic overlays, and breathable mesh on the upper. The sole unit incorporates technology from both the 2002 and 1906 models, aiming to provide a combination of cushioning and stability.

The 1954R is available in three distinct colorways: "Black/Black," "Slate Grey/Castlerock," and "Sea Salt/Linen." Each of these colorways is equipped with segmented ABZORB cushioning, designed to offer comfort and shock absorption throughout the day. The retail price for the New Balance 1954R is set at $190 USD. The early release is available exclusively through SOMEWHERE®'s retail channels, while the global release will be available through New Balance.
