Senators alarmed at Trump administration website Moms.gov promoting anti-abortion facilities

A group of 11 senators sent a letter to Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy on May 12, 2024, urging the removal of the federal website Moms.gov and the cessation of using federal resources to direct individuals to anti-abortion crisis pregnancy centers. The senators expressed "profound" health and safety concerns regarding the website, which was launched by the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) on Mother's Day. HHS claims Moms.gov serves as a resource for "new and expecting mothers," offering guidance and information to support their health and wellbeing. However, the senators contend that the website's promotion of crisis pregnancy centers, which they allege provide misleading information and discourage abortion access, constitutes a misuse of federal funds and a potential threat to maternal health.
