Sarajevo Film Festival Announces 32nd Edition Competition Lineup

The Sarajevo Film Festival has announced the complete lineup for its 32nd edition, scheduled to present a total of 51 films. These films will be showcased across four distinct competition categories: narrative feature film, feature and short documentary film, narrative short film, and student short film. The selection includes a significant number of premieres, with 21 films making their world debut and an additional six films having their international premiere at the festival.

The narrative feature film competition will host 10 films, including "The Last Girl" by Danish director Per Fly and "The Man Who Sold His Skin" director Kaouther Ben Hania's latest work, "Four Daughters." The documentary competition features 12 films, with "The Forest" by director Paul Nui and "The Other Profile" by director Emine Yildirim among the selected entries. The festival aims to highlight emerging talent and established filmmakers alike, offering a platform for diverse cinematic voices.

In addition to the competitive programs, the festival will also present a curated selection of films in its non-competitive sections, including "In Focus" and "Kino" programs. These sections will showcase a range of international cinema, providing attendees with a broader perspective on contemporary filmmaking. The festival's opening film, "The Land of Women" by director Ena Sendijarevic, will screen on August 11, 2023, setting the tone for the event. The closing film will be "The Summer of "85" by director François Ozon.
