Ryu Shoots Record 60 at Evian Championship

Haeran Ryu shot a record-breaking 60 in the Evian Championship on Friday, propelling her into the lead of the women's major golf tournament. This remarkable performance marks the lowest single-round score ever recorded in a women's major championship. Ryu's exceptional play saw her overtake England's Lottie Woad, who had held the top position after the first round.

Ryu's scorecard included 11 birdies and an eagle, with her only blemish being a bogey on the par-4 11th hole. The previous record was 61, achieved by several players over the years.

Lottie Woad, who had started the day with a one-shot lead, struggled to maintain her momentum, carding a 73. This dropped her to a tie for second place, two shots behind Ryu.
