Reflecting pool to be drained again as Trump claims five vandalism arrests

Trump alleged that these "vandals" were responsible for algae blooms and peeling paint that emerged shortly after a $14 million renovation. He described the damage as a slit in the paint, initially estimating it at 290 to 300 feet, later amending it to 350 feet, and also claimed fertilizer was added to the water, causing the algae growth. Five additional individuals are reportedly under investigation in connection with the incidents. Trump indicated that the pool would need to be drained and refixed due to the damage, which he characterized as minor but requiring intervention. The pool had recently undergone a significant renovation, and these new issues necessitate additional work.
