Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian condemned UFC fighter Josh Hokit's controversial remarks about former First Lady Michelle Obama on X this week. Hokit made the comments, which Ohanian described as "vile and inappropriate," after winning a UFC bout on the White House South Lawn on Sunday, an event celebrating President Donald Trump's 80th birthday and America's 250th anniversary. UFC President and CEO Dana White also denounced Hokit's statements, telling TIME that while he supports free speech, he is against "nasty and false things about people's families." Ohanian, who attended the UFC event as a guest of TKO/IMG leadership and owns multiple sports teams, stated he was already departing when the comments were made and was pleased to see White's condemnation. He drew a parallel to his own resignation from Reddit, which he co-founded, citing his protest against hate and violence on the platform. Former NFL player Robert Griffin also joined the criticism.
