Record breaking heat expected across UK this week, says Met Office

The Met Office issued an extreme heat warning for the UK, forecasting record-breaking temperatures potentially reaching 38C (100.4F) from Monday through Thursday. This heatwave is expected to be accompanied by very high humidity, increasing the danger of heat stress for vulnerable populations, including the elderly. The Met Office expressed growing confidence that this week's temperatures could surpass the current record for the hottest June day, which stands at 35.6C. This record was previously set in Southampton and Camden Square, London, in June 1957.
