Prince William and Princess Kate’s Eldest Child George Will Leave Family Home To Attend Same Boarding School as His Dad

Prince George will attend Eton College starting in September, following in the footsteps of his father, Prince William, and uncle, Prince Harry. The 12-year-old prince will leave his family home to enroll at the elite all-boys boarding school located near Windsor. Kensington Palace confirmed the decision in an official statement released on June 16. Eton College requires all students to be full-time boarders, meaning they reside on campus throughout the week and only return home for holidays and weekend trips. This announcement resolves months of speculation regarding George's secondary education after he completes his studies at Lambrook School, where his younger siblings, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, currently attend. Prince William and Prince Harry were both full-time boarders at Eton College, which has an annual fee of $80,000. While the palace statement did not explicitly confirm George would be a boarder, Eton's admissions policy typically does not include day students. The possibility of George attending Marlborough College, his mother Kate's alma mater, had also been considered, but Eton was ultimately chosen.
