Prime Video Releases First Teaser for Muhammad Ali Series

Prime Video released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming eight-episode limited series, 'The Greatest,' which chronicles the life of Muhammad Ali. The series is slated for a global premiere on November 4, 2026. This biographical drama is billed as the first-ever authorized scripted series about the global icon, offering an intimate look at his journey.

The production features executive production by Ali's widow, Lonnie Ali, and aims to explore not only his boxing career but also untold stories from his youth and his significant impact as a civil rights leader. Rising star Jaalen Best will portray Cassius Clay/Muhammad Ali. Showrunner Ben Watkins indicated that the first season will focus on Ali's coming-of-age narrative, beginning with his 1960 Olympic gold medal win and concluding with his 1964 victory over Sonny Liston.

'The Greatest' is backed by significant production powerhouses, including Michael B. Jordan's Outlier Society, known for the 'Creed' franchise, and Jay-Z's Roc Nation. These collaborations are intended to ensure both the boxing sequences and the overall aesthetic of the series meet a high standard. The teaser trailer was debuted at the Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans, generating considerable buzz for the project.
