Prime Video Adapts Ulf Kvensler Novel 'Sarek' Into Thriller Series

Prime Video announced the development of a four-part psychological thriller miniseries titled Sarek, based on Ulf Kvensler's debut novel of the same name. The series will be set against the backdrop of Sweden's Sarek National Park, a remote and challenging natural environment.

Filming for Sarek is scheduled to commence in autumn 2024. The production aims to leverage the stark beauty and isolation of the Sarek National Park to enhance the psychological tension of the narrative. The adaptation is being produced by FLX, a prominent Swedish production company known for its work on various television series and films.

The cast features several emerging Swedish actors, including Felix Sandman, known for his role in the Netflix series Quicksand, and Alva Bratt, who appeared in the Netflix film Barracuda Queens. Kitt Walker Johansson, recognized for her performance in the TV series Burden of Justice, and Nora Rios, from the acclaimed series Caliphate, will also star in the series. These casting choices suggest a focus on a new generation of talent for the project.

Ulf Kvensler's novel Sarek explores themes of survival and psychological endurance within an extreme natural setting.
