Ozlo Launches Sleepbuds 2 with Extended Battery Life

Ozlo, a company founded by former Bose engineers, has launched its second-generation Sleepbuds 2 this week, aiming to improve the sleep experience for users who previously relied on standard earbuds like Apple's AirPods Pro. The original Sleepbuds were released in 2024, featuring noise masking, ambient sounds, and phone audio capabilities within a design optimized for side sleepers. The new Sleepbuds 2 build upon this foundation, addressing limitations of the first generation while introducing new functionalities. Priced at $279, the Sleepbuds 2 represent a $30 increase from the original model's cost. Charlie Taylor, co-founder of Ozlo, views the Sleepbuds 2 as a pivotal product within a broader future ecosystem that Ozlo intends to develop. This envisioned ecosystem includes complementary products such as bedside speakers and AI agents, with aspirations to venture into clinical sleep interventions. The company has already garnered a user base of several hundred thousand with its initial Sleepbuds and anticipates that the revised version will attract a significantly larger audience. The physical design of the Sleepbuds 2 remains largely consistent with their predecessors, with the most noticeable external change being a new button integrated into the charging case. This button serves a dual purpose: it can initiate and cease playback of Ozlo's curated library of ambient sounds and also functions as a snooze control for the earbuds' alarm feature. Substantial enhancements have been made to the internal components and performance. The battery life has been extended to a maximum of 14 hours, a notable improvement over the 10-hour duration of the original Sleepbuds. This extended battery capacity is designed to comfortably last through an entire night, even when utilizing Bluetooth audio streaming from a smartphone, which typically consumes more power than Ozlo's integrated soundscapes. Furthermore, Ozlo has incorporated a new data pin on the earbuds themselves. This addition is intended to bolster connectivity with the charging case and facilitate quicker, more seamless pairing processes with users' mobile devices. The company's objective is to provide a more reliable and convenient audio solution specifically tailored for sleep, minimizing disruptions like low battery warnings or uncomfortable ear pressure experienced with conventional earbuds.
