OnePlus 12R Launched With Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Chip

OnePlus officially launched the OnePlus 12R on January 23, 2024, positioning it as a high-performance device that bridges the gap between flagship and mid-range offerings. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, a flagship processor from 2023 that continues to offer robust performance for demanding applications and gaming. This choice of processor underscores OnePlus's strategy to deliver premium performance at a more accessible price point.

The display of the OnePlus 12R is a key highlight, featuring a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED panel. This screen boasts a 120Hz ProXDR refresh rate, enabling exceptionally smooth scrolling and animations, along with enhanced visual fluidity for media consumption and gaming. The display also supports a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, ensuring excellent visibility even in direct sunlight. Furthermore, the panel has a resolution of 2780 x 1264 pixels, providing sharp and detailed imagery.

In terms of battery and charging, the OnePlus 12R is equipped with a substantial 5,000 mAh battery, designed to provide extended usage times. Complementing the large battery is support for 100W SUPERVOOC wired charging, which allows for rapid recharging. According to OnePlus, the device can be charged from 1% to 100% in just 26 minutes, significantly reducing downtime for users. The phone also supports 50W SUPERVOOC and 15W AirVOOC wireless charging, offering versatile charging options.

The camera system on the OnePlus 12R includes a 50MP Sony IMX890 main sensor, which is known for its ability to capture detailed and vibrant photos, especially in good lighting conditions. This is complemented by an 8MP ultrawide camera for broader<bos> shots and a 2MP macro camera for close-up photography. For selfies and video calls, the device features a 16MP front-facing camera.

Running on OxygenOS 14, based on Android 14, the OnePlus 12R offers a clean and customizable user experience. The OnePlus 12R is available in two color options: Iron Gray and Cool Blue. Pricing starts at $499 for the 8GB RAM/128GB storage variant and $599 for the 16GB RAM/256GB storage configuration in the United States.
