One person has died. Now a major cheese recall is growing across multiple states

Clover Hill Dairy, LLC expanded a voluntary cheese recall on Thursday due to fears of Listeria monocytogenes contamination, a bacterium linked to an outbreak in three states that has resulted in one death. The initial recall, initiated a few weeks prior, focused solely on Soft Ricotta/Requeson Cheese products. The expanded recall now encompasses all Clover Hill Dairy brand cheeses, including various sizes and types of Soft Cuajada, Cuajada, Ricotta, and mild and sharp cheese varieties such as Cheddar, White Cheddar, White Colby, and Monterey Jack. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published the updated recall notice, which details specific product sizes ranging from 0.40-lb snack packs to 40-lb buckets. Listeria monocytogenes can cause severe illness, particularly in pregnant women, newborns, older adults, and individuals with weakened immune systems, and can lead to serious complications or death. Consumers are advised to check their refrigerators for recalled products and discard them or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
