Pokémon and Adidas Launch 30th Anniversary Sneaker Collection

Adidas Originals and Pokémon have launched a comprehensive sneaker collection to commemorate Pokémon's 30th anniversary, merging gaming nostalgia with contemporary streetwear design. This extensive lineup features several iconic Adidas silhouettes, each meticulously reimagined with color palettes, textures, and embellishments directly inspired by beloved Pokémon characters. The collection spans multiple generations of Pokémon, offering a wide appeal to both long-time fans and sneaker enthusiasts.

The collection prominently features three distinct Pikachu-themed pairs. Leading this group is the Pokémon x Adidas Pro Model “Pikachu,” accompanied by two iterations of the Superstar “Pikachu.” One Pro Model and one Superstar model showcase fuzzy yellow uppers designed to mimic Pikachu's fur, complemented by black detailing and Poké Ball-shaped lace dubraes. The third Superstar variant presents a clean white base adorned with all-over Pikachu graphics, providing a more graphic-focused interpretation compared to the textured designs.

Further expanding the collection, the Charmander evolution line is represented by several models. The Superstar “Charmander” adopts cream and orange tones, while the Superstar “Charmeleon” incorporates scarlet uppers with distinctive claw-shaped Three Stripes. The Superstar “Charizard” elevates its design with a wing-shaped flap positioned over the eyelets, a design element that draws inspiration from Jeremy Scott's flamboyant collaborations with Adidas.

The collection also delves into darker, spectral aesthetics with designs inspired by Gengar and Haunter. The Adistar XLG 2.0 “Gengar” features deep purple hues and character artwork on the tongue. The Adistar Control 5 “Haunter” continues this eerie theme with sharp overlays and a sinister color scheme. Both of these pairs emphasize Adidas's performance-oriented silhouettes while channeling the distinct energy of their respective Pokémon counterparts.

Mewtwo, a powerful legendary Pokémon, receives significant representation across three different models. The Samba OG “Mewtwo” incorporates triangular eyelets that reference the character's fingers. The ZX 8000 “Mewtwo” utilizes lavender and violet colorways, enhanced with a Master Ball dubrae for added detail. Finally, the Spezial “Mewtwo” introduces a unique heel loop inspired by the cord extending from Mewtwo's neck, reinforcing the character's bio-engineered aesthetic. The collection's pricing ranges from $110 to $180 USD, with a release date set for September 2026, making it a highly anticipated drop for fans of both brands.
