NTREIS Appoints Joey Bandemer VP of Data Governance

North Texas Real Estate Information Systems, Inc. (NTREIS) announced on Tuesday the appointment of Joey Bandemer as its new vice president of data governance and customer experience. This hire marks a significant step in NTREIS's ongoing modernization efforts, which began after CEO Chris Carrillo assumed leadership in June 2025. The Multiple Listing Service (MLS), which supports over 53,000 subscribers across Texas and Louisiana, is actively updating its technology, compliance protocols, and data strategies amidst increasing pressure on MLSs to demonstrate their value and enhance the governance of listing data.

In his new capacity, Bandemer will be responsible for establishing and leading NTREIS's compliance and data governance functions. This includes developing policies, managing data licensing, setting customer experience standards, and overseeing the transition from an association-distributed compliance model to direct management. Bandemer brings extensive experience to NTREIS, having previously served as director of compliance and policy at Bright MLS. Prior to that, he was director of local association services at Florida Realtors, where he advised 51 local Realtor associations on MLS policy and governance, and also led statewide education initiatives. His early MLS career was at REcolorado, where he developed expertise in compliance and policy administration.

The appointment of Bandemer is part of a deliberate rebuilding of the NTREIS leadership team over the past year. Bandemer expressed confidence in the organization's direction, stating his focus will be on constructing the NTREIS compliance program from its foundation. A key aspect of NTREIS's modernization overhaul involves bringing MLS compliance in-house for the first time. This decision was approved by the NTREIS board and shareholders, replacing a previous system where 13 shareholder associations shared compliance responsibilities. The new centralized compliance program will encompass NTREIS's 44-county service area, with a planned soft rollout scheduled for the fourth quarter.
