Nike Air Max 90 Features Yellow Plaid Design

Nike is preparing for the autumn season with the upcoming release of the Air Max 90 "Yellow Plaid" colorway, scheduled for September 2026. This iteration reimagines the classic silhouette with a focus on autumnal tailoring and streetwear aesthetics. The design moves away from traditional athletic mesh, incorporating a premium flannel-style textile for the base layer of the upper. This "Yellow Plaid" print features a grid of canary yellow and charcoal lines on a cream background, covering the toe box, ankle collar, and tongue.

To ensure the plaid pattern remains the central design element, Nike has applied smooth, matte black leather overlays to the midfoot and mudguards. The underlying structure of the Air Max 90, originally designed by Tinker Hatfield, is preserved. A clean white leather Swoosh is applied to the side, contrasting with the dark midfoot. Additional monochromatic elements include neutral grey TPU panels for the eyestays, mudboard branding windows, and heel badges.

The midsole is constructed from white polyurethane foam, housing the signature visible Air unit, a hallmark of the Air Max line. The outsole is expected to provide reliable traction suitable for the transitional weather of autumn. The retail price for the Nike Air Max 90 "Yellow Plaid" is set at $300 USD. The SKU for this release is IR5598-001.
