Josh Lucas Joins Kidman, Fanning in Paramount+ Series ‘Discretion’

Josh Lucas has been cast in the upcoming Paramount+ legal drama series “Discretion,” Variety has confirmed. He will star opposite Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning in the show, which received a straight-to-series order in October 2025. The series is based on the short story of the same name by Chandler Baker.

“Discretion” has been ordered for eight episodes. The plot centers on a high-powered attorney who discovers a dark secret about her husband. The series is produced by Blossom Films and Fifth Season. Nicole Kidman is also executive producing through her Blossom Films banner, alongside Per Saari. Other executive producers include Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, and Casey Haver for Fifth Season, and Chandler Baker.

Lucas is known for his roles in “Sweet Home Alabama,” “A Beautiful Mind,” and “The Firm.” His recent television credits include “The Lincoln Lawyer” and “Yellowstone.” The casting of Lucas further solidifies the ensemble for “Discretion,” which is expected to be a significant addition to Paramount+’s original programming slate. The series aims to explore themes of power, secrets, and the legal profession.
