NewFilmmakers LA Announces Nominees and Jury for 14th Annual Awards (EXCLUSIVE)

NewFilmmakers Los Angeles announced the nominees and jury for its 14th annual best of NFMLA awards on March 10, 2024. A total of 84 projects have been nominated across 16 distinct categories, which include accolades for best documentary feature film and best performance drama. These selected projects represent films that were showcased during NFMLA's 2025 programming season, as well as those that emerged from the organization's InFocus initiative. The InFocus program specifically supports filmmakers from underrepresented communities, providing them with industry networking opportunities and resources. This year's jury comprises 30 film industry professionals, including directors, producers, and critics, who will evaluate the nominated works. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on March 23, 2024, at the Montalban Theatre in Hollywood, celebrating diverse cinematic voices and achievements.
